Few people embody Pittsburgh Seminary’s mission of Christian hospitality better than our beloved alumnus Fred McFeely Rogers ’62. And as a reminder of Fred’s example in the Way of Jesus, we’re making a space for him right here!
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, we invite you to help fund the Fred Rogers Family Room in our newly renovated, soon-to-reopen Barbour Library! With its Neighborhood-like feel, furnishings, and outfitting, the Fred Rogers Family Room will welcome students and their families to explore reading and play that inspire loving our neighbors, welcoming strangers, and seeing every person as a child of God.
Make your donation toward our $25,000 goal today!
Through several programs in particular, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary focuses on serving others in the Way of Jesus—like Fred Rogers did throughout his lifetime:
the Metro-Urban Institute walks with neighbors in our city
the Church Planting Initiative welcomes all to Christian community
the World Mission Initiative embraces people throughout the world
the Miller Summer Youth Institute—which Fred led in music—invites older teens to explore their calling
On behalf of the entire Pittsburgh Seminary community, thank you for considering a gift to the Fred Rogers Family Room. And remember, PTS is glad to be your neighbor!
Every contribution helps make this room a reality for families visiting Pittsburgh Seminary's campus.
Gifts at this level will help purchase new books for the children's collection, conveniently located in the Fred Rogers Family Room!
Gifts of $100 will help purchase a new play area for children to enjoy in the Fred Rogers Family Room.
Help us fill the Fred Rogers Family Room with new furniture and create a welcoming space for everyone!
